Scrapiana classes & workshops
Whether it’s making strawberry needle-cushions from jam-pot covers, or fabric-covered buttons or beads from an old Liberty lawn blouse, there’s a novel twist on using up textile scraps at a Scrapiana Workshop. This is also the right place to spruce up your mending and repair skills.
Sessions are three hours (unless otherwise stated) with all materials included in the workshop fee – though you’re very welcome to bring along anything of your own which you’d like to use. Please browse through the list of workshops below, and if you don’t see what you’d like to make, do ask as new workshops are being added all the time. You can book your place by following the relevant link through to the Scrapiana Etsy store. If you can’t find a link, send an email to eirlys@scrapiana.com.
‘We had such a lovely morning… chicken soup for the soul!’ - Jess of The Bath Crafting Cranny commenting on a Scrapiana strawberry workshop.
‘Eirlys is really good at showing you what you need to know and helping if anyone got stuck, but all without feeling like a teacher. It was more like an evening out with friends where we just happened to learn to make some really simple but effective felt flowers. I had a couple of rather low days in the week… but came away from the evening…with a big grin on my face – some lovely people and a bit of cutting, stitching and gluing is clearly the best medicine.’ – Sue of Deerey Me! describing a craft night making upcycled felt flowers with Bath WI

If you’d like Eirlys to lead an upcycling workshop or class at your crafting establishment or special event (birthday, hen party, Bat Mitzah), please email eirlys@scrapiana.com for details of projects and special group rates. I can also speak to your group on the subject of upcycling and mending with the aid of lots of wonderful props.
For a glimpse of the kind of thing I do, here I am teaching how to make upcycled Mother’s Day corsages at the recent Bath Crafty Tea Party for Oxfam.
Come along to a FREE session of The Big Mend. This is a chance to sew on those stray buttons, take up that sagging hem or fix that burst zipper, but with added good company, technical guidance and encouragement. Bring any materials you think you’ll need (though basic mending materials will be available for a small fee). Sewing machines and some specialist tools will be provided. The Big Mend takes place on the last Wednesday of the month, 7-9pm at The Museum of Bath at Work. All welcome!
